De Weelderik is the ideal starting point for a beautiful walking tour in the Netherlands. Join us on a journey of discovery through the Achterhoek and explore picturesque villages, green meadows and several estates. Stroll along the dike overlooking the IJssel River, walk past Hackfort Castle and meanwhile take a well-deserved break at one of the many restaurants. SHORT ROUTES

 
    Ockhorstroute | 7,7 km

    Starting Point: Vierakkersestraatweg 37A, Vierakker

    This route has been declared the most beautiful detour of Gelderland and runs through the coulisse landscape around Wichmond and Vierakker. Along the way you encounter a varied landscape of wooded banks, meadows, forests and farmland. The route runs largely over country estates and along restored church paths. The route is marked with red signs with a bird and 'Dorpsbelang Wichmond Vierakker' on it.

    Mill to mill route | 9.26 km

    Starting point: The Golden Lion

    Discover the smallest town in the Netherlands, Bronkhorst, and walk along the dike overlooking the IJssel River. Along the way you will pass two windmills: the Bronkhorster Mill and the Beltkorenmolen De Hoop. Along the way, a nice stop is the Bronckhorster Brewing Company or the farm terrace at Fruitbedrijf Horstink. Products from both companies can also be found in the clubhouse. You can follow the route via the yellow signs.

    Around Hengelo | 11.45 km

    Starting point: Café de Jongens

    This walking route takes you into the village of Hengelo and shows you the outskirts of the village. You walk through a varied landscape, past Bekveld and Noordink. The route is marked with green signs. If you want to extend the route by 1.2 kilometers, it is possible to start from De Weelderik. During the route it is possible to take a break at one of the restaurants in Hengelo.

    Hackfortse Enkroute | 16,2 km

    Starting point: parking lot 'de Bleek', Vorden

    This beautiful route goes over the Hackfort estate and through Vorden. You pass Hackfort Castle and Hackfort watermill. Delicious food can also be found along the way, for example in the castle at Hackfort's kitchen or in the center of Vorden. The route follows the blue signs.

    Dunes, gullies & castles route | 21.9 km

    Starting point: Manege Het Loenhorst

    Want to spend a whole day hiking and out and about? Then this route is recommended. The route leads past several estates, castles and shifting dunes in a wooded area. Be surprised by the numerous views. The route has several starting points and is marked with olive-green signs.

WITH THE KIDS

    Gnome route Heikamp | 1.5 km

    Starting point: Pancake Farm Heikamp

    At De Heikamp there is lots to do for children such as a climbing forest, pancake house and so also a gnome route. You pick up the booklet and the gnome hat at De Heikamp or VVV Ruurlo. The route is fun for children between 2 and 6 years old.

    Children's nature trail 't Hertenpad | 2.5 km

    Starting point: estate Baak

    In Baak is a beautiful forest, the Deer Forest. In this play forest is the Deer Path, a route especially for children. On the route you go over a play bridge and other obstacles. You can pick up the route and a bag with assignments at café het Wapen van Baak.
