De Weelderik is the first completely off-the-grid holiday park in the Netherlands. With solar panels, sewage that is treated on site, reusable materials, water-saving shower heads and charging stations for your electric car, the holiday homes are more sustainable than ever. De Weelderik is fully self-sufficient.  Better by nature, that's what we believe in. A sustainable future is better for you as a holidaymaker and for the planet. With us, you will stay at a highly luxurious holiday home in the scenic landscape of the Achterhoek.

    De Weelderik gives you energy! We produce all the energy we use ourselves through solar panels.

    Sewage is treated on-site and reused through filter systems. So fully off-the-grid!

    Reusable wood

    Your eco vacation home has been built out of CLT wood (highly sustainable) instead of brick, steel, and concrete.

    Rain water is given back to nature and all bathroom have a water-saving shower head.

    In and around the vacation home everything is sustainable as well: from charging points for your car/bike to smart thermostats.

From a wine climate cabinet and Quooker in your Snaidero design kitchen to a private sauna, your own swimming pool and Bastard Kamado BBQ in your yard.

✔️ Facilities - There is plenty to do at De Weelderik! Play a game of padel on the padel court in the park or challenge your group to a game of pétanque or a game of your choice on the multicourt. The clubhouse and fire pit are the perfect places to come together.

✔️ The Achterhoek - The area around Hengelo (Gelderland) is a beautiful part of the Netherlands known for its bocage landscape. It is an ideal destination for hikers and cyclists. Discover historic castles, charming vineyards and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

♻️ What does completely off-the-grid mean?

Off-the-grid means that you have your own facility to meet your own electricity needs. De Weelderik has this. We generate all the energy ourselves with our solar panels(even more than we need) and sewage water is purified on-site and reused through filter systems.

🌿 How do you guarantee sustainability?

Sustainability is not a one-off action for us. We continually strive for it in all of our activities. We evaluate our sustainability policy annually and draw up a plan for next year. This way, we always keep improving ourselves and you can enjoy your sustainable holiday with peace of mind!
